Cometic GM LSX LHS 4.1in Bore .052in MLX 4-Layer Head GasketThe Cometic MLS gasket is comprised of three to five layers of stainless steel. Cometic uses stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a Viton rubber material designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. The Viton coating is heat resistant to 250C or 482F.

Just like me and you breathing, your car performs better when it can breathe freely and cleanly. My philosophy with an engine air filter is to replace with cheap and often. You can't control the quality of air coming into your system but you can control the filtering, so I'd rather replace the filter on an accelerated schedule with a cheap product than to invest into something more expensive and have it perform dirty for longer than it should.
