Great New Addition To The Nylabone Line - Perfect for Hard Core Chewers!
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: Large
We've been using and depending on Nylabone for decades. For more than 50 years these toys have been designed with the dog in mind - and to appeal to their natural instinct to chew and interact. Of course there are the occasional flops but they're few and far between.
We have two Old English Bulldogs, a soon to be nine year old and soon to be two year old. I think out of what stands now at close to 600 reviews half have to be dedicated to dog toys and canine care products. After all, they are indeed family in every sense of the word and we indulge them with a constant parade of new toys.
These new Marrow Barbell bones have been a huge hit.
Both our boys have the jaw power to rip a the door off a Hummer and then proceed to shred the steel. Plush and soft toys are our of the question as those adorable little bunnies and chipmunks, even the ones promoted to hardcore chewers end up looking like road kill in the blur of an eye.
The Barbell design is incredibly heavy and thick - believe me you don't want this one dropped on your foot. Elvis our youngest can do a significant amount of damage in one long term chew session, however after hours of relentless chomping the bone looks unscathed.
Some nice touches are:
* Very Thick casting of the Dura Chew material ( the strongest material made by Nylabone)
* Textured nubs on the outside are superb for cleaning off tarter and keeping your best friends pearly whites and gums in great shape.
* YThe Barbell design makes it easy for yor dog to carry around, providing of course he or she can lift it!
So many fly by night companies cater to "aggressive chewers" and more than often we and our Bullies end up not only destroyed in record time - but can pose a choking hazard and other potentially serious problems. I've had dogs my entire life, over 50 years and I've learned that "Virtually Indestructible' is code for - if lasts an hour you're in luck.
Some exceptions to the rule are Kong for hard core chewers, Planet orbee and of course Nylabone. We used Elk horn for a while until it fractured one of our dogs teeth, not good. Antler of any kind is far too hard a substance and fractured teeth can and do go un-noticed and can lead to infection and blood poisoning.
On a brighter note, the Nylabone Dura Chew has enough give to prevent this - and great lasting power. We have tons of different shapes in the Dura Chew material including the Soupers, rings, Turkey legs and so on. They all hold up and the dogs adore them. Please note, these particular toys are for large breeds with powerful jaws and made especially for the tough, show no mercy, serial killer chewers - canine clients.
And if that my fellow dog lovers fits your pooch you can't go wrong with the Barbell peanut butter Chew Toy.
5 Paws Up!

Chew me
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: Large
This thing is tough and lasts. I mean look it’s meant to be chewed and eventually replaced so they don’t last forever but you get what you pay for and with this the quality and cost align it’s a solid chew bone for any dog

This is gonna be long, so bear with me.
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: Large
First of all, I didn't receive the pictured item. I got the "Large" sized barbell chew, and the one pictured is the "mega monster" chew.
This review is for the "mega monster" chew which is what's pictured. I have an 80 pound, 1-year-old lab, and this has actually helped her calm her chewing anxieties. She's become less destructive, and a lot more calmer. She even listens now that her hyper-ness has dwindled down.
The chew I got was the one with the golden retriever- which is the large size. It's the exact same thing and the size I'm reviewing (the one that's pictured with the lab). The one with the 'golden retiever' is recommended for sizes 25-50 pounds. The one I needed (the one that is pictured) is for dogs 50 pounds and up, so it's perfect for my lab. (Are you with me still?)
Anyway, I didn't wanna go through the 'returning and waiting for my new product' process, and I didn't wanna risk getting the same wrong product again. So I just took it to my local pet store and exchanged it for what I wanted in the first place when I ordered this, and paid the difference, which was like 3 bucks.
SO, overall this the quality of this item is amazing! My lab is a strong chewer, and she's entertained herself with this product for long periods of time leaving barely a dent in it. I highly recommend it!

DIEGO LOVES THIS CHEW TOY
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: Large
NYLABONE DURA CHEW BARBELL - PEANUT BUTTER FLAVOR
Diego is soon to be two years old and loves to play with his toys and chew on NYLABONEs. NYLABONE is the ONLY bone we will let him have.
NYLABONE brand is long lasting. This BARBELL bone has plenty of little nubs for him to clean his teeth on. He loves to carry it around and play with it also. This particular NYLABONE is made for the extreme chewer and that would be little Diego.
NYLABONE products are veterinarian recommended. They are made in the USA. They are high quality. These NYLABONE products keep him happy, entertain him, and help keep his teeth clean. There no toxins involved the manufacture of NYLABONE products. Dogs naturally want to chew, so let yours chew -- on NYLABONE.
