Purple space chickens? Honestly, how do you NOT pick this up? My 9-year-old — who would normally choose sports, snacks, or making mysterious smells over reading — actually sat down and READ this willingly. Not only that, I heard random little laughs coming from his room, which basically never happens with books. For once, getting him to read didn’t feel like I was negotiating a hostage situation. The story was goofy, fun, and weird in exactly the right way for this age group. Overall, such a fun little treasure find for reluctant readers and goofy boys with endless energy.
