Yes, I put it in a 2002 Subaru WRX bugeye with an EJ257 block and EJ205 heads.
And yesāthis oil absolutely slaps.
This engine is not stock, not delicate, and definitely not living an easy life. It sees spirited driving, boost, and the occasional questionable decision. After switching to Mobil 1 0W-40, cold starts are smoother, oil pressure is rock solid, and the motor just feels happier. No weird noises, no drama, no oil consumption surprises.
The viscosity is perfect for a performance Subaru build, especially if youāre running tighter tolerances or want strong protection under heat and load. Itās thick enough when hot, flows great when cold, and inspires confidence every time I turn the key.
Is it technically āEuropeanā? Sure.
Does my Subaru care? Not even a little.
If youāre running a built engine, turbo setup, or just want a proven, high-quality oil that punches above its weight, this stuff earns its reputation. My bugeye may not be European, but itās living its best life on this oil.
